About us

 

The Slade School of Fine Art is an art school where staff and students approach contemporary art practice, and the history and theories that inform it through experimentation, imagination and research-oriented practice.

The Slade is a department of University College London (UCL) led by Mary Evans. It has a lively and dynamic practice led research culture. Staff are practising artists, writers and theorists with significant research outputs and exhibition profiles, actively involved in research and teaching.

 

About the role

 

The Administrative Officer will carry out a range of administrative tasks and be a point of contact for staff and students, ensuring the smooth running of the general administrative operations within the Slade Office.

The candidate will also provide personal assistant (PA) support to the Slade Director (Head of Department).

The role is hybrid and during term-time requires on-campus working for four days a week.

 

Please note, this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship and we will not be able to consider your application if you do not currently have right to work in the UK.

 

About you

 

The successful candidate will be educated to a minimum of A Level standard or equivalent professional experience and have experience of providing PA/administrative support including managing an inbox and a diary. They will also have experience of implementing/maintaining efficient office systems and procedures.

The candidate will have good oral and written communication skills and the ability to listen and speak with clarity to all colleagues, staff, students and partners. They will have strong organisational skills and be able to manage conflicting priorities and deadlines of a busy and varied workload with high level of accuracy. The candidate will also be able to take accurate minutes and have an understanding of the requirements of committee servicing.
