Associate, Transaction Management, Private Equity (2-Year Contract)

The Investment Services and Transaction Management team leverages data and emerging technology to provide investment services and transaction management services to the Private Equity investment teams globally. The role of the Transaction Management team in GIC is to work in-step with the investment teams to project manage the smooth and timely closing of investments within the GIC Private Equity strategies. This involves general understanding of the alternative investment sector, legal documentation and concise communication with various stakeholders.
The number of strategies covered by the Transaction Management team, as well as the significant deal flow, requires extreme attention to detail, elite organisational and time-management skills. Altogether, these are vital to be effective in dealing with the complex nature of the deals and short timelines.
What will you do as an Associate, Transaction Management:
- Go-to resource for all process queries or application of processes /policies
- Be the main middle office point of contact for external counterparties such as counsels, custodians and admin agents for all, KYC / AML clearances and query resolution
- Collaboration with internal teams to ensure timely exchange of KYC documentation and funding for new investments, evidence of deal closings and resolution of any related queries.
- Upload complete records of closing documentation to the document management system.
- Maintenance of correct contacts lists for all investments
- Assist with notarisation of documents and procuring signatures as required
- Assist with departmental data collection initiatives
- Opportunistic ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the Transaction Management Team
What skills or qualifications should you possess in this role:
- General familiarity of the investment sector and general knowledge of private sector investing
- Awareness documentation of private transactions, company secretarial practices and the nuances of PE transactions
- Appreciation of the commercial, regulatory environment for private sector transactions.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deals at any given time.
- 3 – 4 years’ experience middle office support in investment documentation/ structuring and operations
