Full job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Trusts & Statutory fundraising professional to join our team.

This is a full-time, 12-month fixed-term post to cover maternity leave. You can be based at either our London office (Hammersmith) or our Glasgow office. London weighting applies to London applicants only.

The role manages an ongoing programme of prospect research, identifying and prioritising grant-making bodies with a capacity to give up to £10,000 and a likely interest in Maggie’s revenue and capital needs. You will also continue to add to the Maggie’s knowledge-base around existing grantmakers through desk research, networking, etc.

We are looking for a strong communicator with at least 2 years’ experience, who can build positive and effective relationships with colleagues and external funders. You will have outstanding written skills and a flair for creating compelling proposals, as well as the ability to spot and exploit new opportunities alongside your excellent research skills.

This is a rare opportunity to be part of a growing team and develop your career at an exciting time in our vibrant organisation’s development.

Your responsibilities

  • Work with colleagues to develop and maintain an annual fundraising calendar for trusts and statutory bodies to ensure that funding proposals, annual reports and updates are submitted to Maggie’s supporters and prospective supporters in a timely fashion.
  • Keep an accurate and up-to-date record of all approaches to and communication with grantmakers – verbal, paper and computer-based – in accordance with the Maggie’s database and data protection policies.
  • Manage a portfolio of prospects and existing donors through all stages of solicitation with a view to increasing donor engagement, growing retention rates and maximising the income generated for Maggie’s.
  • Liaise with colleagues across Maggie’s to gather management information, stories, programme updates, quotes etc. for inclusion in trust, statutory and lottery documentation, as well as correspondence with family trusts and major donors.

Benefits we offer

In addition to a highly rewarding career, we offer a range of staff benefits, including:

  • a unique, experiential induction based in one of our centres
  • a structured, year-round performance review process focused on developing you in your current role and exploring opportunities for the future
  • a competitive holiday entitlement
  • workplace pension with the option to apply to continue NHS pension
  • the option to apply for a Bike Loan, Travel Card Loan, Ride to Work scheme and much more.
